Things Our Kids Said

We have some dear friends who circulate a holiday card each year and include, among other things, funny things that their kids said in the prior year.  We thought this was a great idea and so, with a tip of the hat to our friends James and Julie, here are some our favorite of August’s obervations (the twins are still working on the whole talking thing).

"I smell something good. Smells like Papaw and Gramma."

"No Bix! Don't lick me, I'm not a food!"

While bobbing his head to the music in the car, “What is my head doing? Dancing really well!”

After Andie set August’s food in front of him on the table on evening, "Can you
get your hands off?"

Subsequent to a conversation in which we extolled the virtues of physical exercise to August, Andie and I overheard him telling a playmate, “My mom and dad work out to try not to die.”

After Andie concluded singing "he's got the whole banana in his hands" to the tune of "He's got the whole world in his hands," August promptly said "I do NOT like that song."

Andie told August, who was getting ready for school one morning, that she had put something special on the table for him to play with (a new board game).  August said "Is it your phone?"  "Something better," said Andie. August responded,"It's Eli!"  Eli is August's good friend.
